Briefography:
Prior to his successful solo career, Diego Garcia made his mark on the indie music scene as front man for the popular indie act Elefant. Drawing from his Argentine roots, his sound conjures the spirit of 1970’s troubadours like Sandro and Jobim as well as singer-songwriters like Leonard Cohen and Harry Nilsson. Diego explored his Latin heritage on his last album, "Laura," a record he made in order to woo back the woman it is named for. His mission was to sing about love in a grown up way and he tapped into his Argentinean roots to find the right sound to accompany it, though he chose to sing in English because it felt too forced in Spanish. It struck a chord with audiences and with Laura, who is now his wife. Click here to check out Diego's Tumblr.
Gregory Rogove:
With the release of Piana, multi-instrumentalist Gregory Rogove, known for his work in Priestbird, Megapuss, and Devendra Banhart and The Grogs, reveals a talent for composition with his first collection of solo piano songs. Greg enlisted his friend John Medeski (Medeski Martin and Wood) to perform the songs and the tracks were recorded in one day in Woodstock, NY. It will be released on January 31st, 2012 on Knitting Factory Records. Click here to read more.
